Whedbee, William - Chicago 2013


After graduating from the University of Chicago in 1974, William Whedbee studied violin making at the International School of Violin Making in Cremona, Italy, returing to Chicago to head the violn making shop at William Harris Lee & Co.  In 1992 he established his own worshop in Chicago, with focus on building cellos on building cellos of professional quality.  His cellos are modeled after the works of Rugieri and Guarneri which Whedbee which Whedbee has had the priveledge of studying over the years.  This 29 1/4" model is compact and comfortable to play yet it is extremely powerful.  The tone of his cellos meets with high priase from cellists and teachers around the world.
