Matteo Goffriller (1649-1742) was the founding father of the 18th century Venetian school of violin making. Over his very long career, his influences and production varied greatly. This violin is realized upon a model of normal size, with gently developed curves and slightly short corners with characteristically open C bouts. The slab cut back is one piece and the varnish a soft golden brown color. Back length 352 mm.
