From a very early passion for music and woodwork, Antoine Cauche chose an apprenticeship as a stringed instrument maker at the age of nineteen.

He entered the International School of Newark (GB) in 1998 and graduated with “Distinction” in 2001. Then he joined the workshop of Masters violin makers Patrick Robin and Andrea Frandsen. He worked beside them for eight years and specialized in making fine violins, violas and cellos.

Antoine Cauche finally set up his own workshop in Angers, France, in 2008. Always eager to increase his skills and share some “savoir-faire” with others, he often takes part in meeting workshops with colleagues from France and other countries, and in specialized courses (drawing, varnish, bow repair…).

His work has been acknowledged by several prizes in prestigious international competitions. His instruments are appreciated by professional or amateur musicians, students, teachers and concert performers.
