Certificate of Authenticity

Our Certificate of Authenticity is a formal, legal document that states in our opinion what we feel is the true origin of your instrument or bow. This document is completed with a detailed physical description including measurements, current condition, and professional quality photographs. The Certificate of Authenticity is also assigned an individual registration number and is backed by Robertson & Son's Violin Shop, Incorporated.

There is no charge for Certificates written for instruments purchased at Robertson's. The fee for instruments not purchased at our shop is 4% of the instrument's value.

Appraisals

Appraisals are generally written for insurance purposes to outline the replacement value of your property. It is a basic description of the physical characteristics of your instrument or bow, exact measurements, and how the instrument or bow is labeled or branded. A written appraisal is $65 and a verbal appraisal is free of charge. There is no charge for an initial appraisal on an instrument purchased at our shop.

All other appraisals should be scheduled in advance with Don Robertson.
